Organic Gardening 101, Tomatoes 101

Double Up Workshops! Tomatoes and Organic Gardening, Sat 4/1 & Sun 4/2

We're repeating these 2 workshops because so many people requested them again! These classic workshops are perfect for beginners and intermediate gardeners, too. Let's get granular and down to basics with these spring prep gardening workshops. We're doubling up this weekend, so you can be sure to catch either one, on either day.  See you here!

Both Saturday 4/1 and Sunday 4/2 at 11:00 AM please join Loretta for a free Growing Tomatoes 101 workshop as she discusses how to have the most successful tomato season ever! She'll discuss soil preparation, how to plant in the ground and in containers, preventing and dealing with pests and diseases, a few of her top favorite heirloom (and non-heirloom) varieties, plus answer common questions such as: "Why didn't my plants produce any tomatoes last summer?"  "What's the difference between Determinate and Indeterminate?" "What does open-pollinated mean?" "Why did my tomato plant suddenly die?" How can I prevent critters from eating my tomatoes?" Plus a few other existential questions if we have the time for it! See you there.

And both Saturday 4/1 and Sunday 4/2 at 1:00 PM, please join Loretta again for the classic Organic Gardening 101 free workshop that is sure to get your spring fever started (if it hasn't hit you already)! Get ready and and start your garden right this season! We'll discuss soil preparation, what to plant and when, how to manage pests and diseases, and how to nourish your plants in this basic yet supremely informative workshop that's perfect for beginners and intermediate gardeners alike.

Grow food, grow medicine, grow your soil, empower yourself, and connect with the earth. Grow new things you haven't grown before- like Italian Fuzzy Cucumbers.

Cheers!

POP POP ITALIANO!
Ask us this weekend about some very special tomatoes that we've sourced from Portland Farmer Friend Evan Gregoire. He went to Italy on a tour to source the most interesting Italian seeds and bring them back to the US. We think Well, actually, we know) the Mediterranean bloodlines of these tomatoes will be perfect for our somewhat inland hot Socal summer weather. We love suporting the work of seed savers, so expect more of this type of specialty curation. Up next- Fuzzy Cucumbers!  Say whaaa?
